大腸麵線 Intestine Vermicelli

I drooled over Bubble Republic's 大腸麵線. I wrote about it here. I had the chance to make it at home. It was such a good lunch.

Thanks, Mom, for getting me this.

It was the perfect thing to go with this, from T&T.

However, my blood pressure shot to the moon when I saw 1135mg of Sodium per serving on the packaging, and that was before I started thinking - what about Uric Acid?   Multiplied by the number of bowls I had... *Gulp!*

Bubble Republic

For the love of Taiwanese street food, Bubble Republic has been our all-time favourite since we discovered it.
It has the best tapioca. Sorry, Bubbletease. It's not you.

I alternate between the Fried Chicken cutlet and Porkchop. And they consistently come with 3 kinds vegetable sides, fried egg, and 滷肉-topped rice. The combo comes with a small milk tea, or add $1 to upsize.

Sushi now needs an order all to himself.

Will try this on the next visit.

Won't be long!

三寶牛肉麵

New discovery.  A small joint serving Taiwan's ubiquitous 牛肉麵 beef noodle soup and others. The english name escapes me. To be updated.

I love how the soup is not all spicy, but also herbal and fragrant, what you don't get from 泡麵 (instant ramen). It's very Taiwanese.

滷肉飯 (braised pork with egg on rice), another favourite Taiwanese street snack.

Hello Kitty Boarding Lounge

5 hours layover at Taoyuan Airport in Taipei, where we spent most of our time in the Hello Kitty Boarding Pass Lounge. Everything is so cute.

Nothing. He just wants to pretend to bite the apple.

I called my brother from one of these phone booths.

Of course we have to eat nu ro mien (beef noodle soup) in Taiwan, even during stopovers.
